How to Hire a DUI Lawyer in Santa Fe?

Posted: 02 May 2012 07:05 PM PDT

Question by daquixote: How to Hire a DUI Lawyer in Santa Fe?
Are you being charged? Does someone at the Santa Fe County Detention Center need your help? Call Steve Aarons * 505-984-1100 * Free Consultation Easy Payment Plans.

You may feel overwhelmed, frightened, but this problem calls for action, not feelings. The best solution begins with a single step: finding a good lawyer. Before arrest in criminal cases, I may convince the Santa Fe prosecutor — typically an assistant First Judicial District Attorney — not to file charges or at least to issue a summons, thus avoiding the embarrassment of arrest and jail until the first hearing. This is true for misdemeanors including DUI, DWI, juvenile cases and even felony charges.

Often the situation is more serious before anyone calls me — the defendant has already been arrested and is waiting for the court system to handle his charges. If you are helping someone already in custody in Santa Fe County Detention Center, one of the first things we can do is request a bondhearing and ask the judge for a lower cash, property or signature bond. If you already saw the judge for your arraignment or first hearing, the court expects you to hire an attorney within 10 days or so. I can discuss your case on the phone or in person, because each case is different as I navigate through the court system, argue to dismiss some or all of the charges, persuade jurors to sign the correct verdict, seek the lightest sentence possible, appeal to higher courts, and every possible task in between. What can be said in general about every criminal case is that the "best lawyer" or at least a very good lawyer for your case is a attorney who will work hard to apply his experience and skills toward the best possible result. There are no guarantees, but hard work does pay off.

If you or someone you know needs a criminal defense lawyer contact me. During the free consultation either on the phone or at my Santa Fe office, we can analyze your case based on my years of experience handling similar cases, discuss your options and a payment plan that you may be able to afford. This is an excellent way to deal with your case and gain confidence in your decision whether to hire me.

Steve Aarons, an experienced criminal defense attorney, handles all felony charges including drug cases, DUI DWI, domestic violence, and probation violations arising in the First Judicial District including Santa Fe,

Licensed in 1994 Scot has over 17 years of DWI experience representing hundreds of DWI clients. Kyle, Texas 78640DWI – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) is the most frequently prosecuted misdemeanor offense in the State and one with some of the most damaging and far-reaching ramifications of a citizen’s everyday life, if convicted. Every other offense in the State of Texas, if the sentence is probated cannot be used to enhance punishment of subsequent charges, with one exception, DWI. A first offense is a Class B Misdemeanor; a second charge is a Class A Misdemeanor and a third charge is a Felony of the 3rd Degree, with the very real potential of incarceration in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice — Institutional Division, better known as prison. That being said, it is extremely important to try and prevent the first DWI conviction, if at all possible in defending the charge. Many people make the potentially fatal mistake of failing to defend themselves in a first offense DWI. First offenders are typically offered a relatively light punishment involving probation, under the assumption that they do not intend to ever place themselves in a position of being charged a second time. Unfortunately, they do not truly realize that due to the extremely subjective nature of the charge (ie the Peace Officer’s opinion that someone is intoxicated …

Will they give me deferred adjudication for my speeding ticket?

Posted: 01 May 2012 03:06 AM PDT

Question by wishywashy22: Will they give me deferred adjudication for my speeding ticket?
I am a student in Texas and have a California’s driver license. I just got my first ever speeding ticket for an 81 in 65. On my ticket, it says that you need a valid Texas DL to get deferred adjudication. What are the chances of me getting it even though I don’t have one? Can i ask the court or is it just pointless?

Are there any other ways for me to pay less and to avoid the ticket to go on my insurance?
The only thing I am missing is the Texas driver license.

Its anything under 25 mph.

usally 15 over is not able to do that and if you are first time offender you get a break but you are over by 15 mph you will need to bring money with you to court you are not in good shape
