Question by kristin: How to get a class c misdemeanor expunged?
I was arrested 2 years ago for a class b misdemeanor of theft. My lawyer was able to get the charge reduced to a class c misdemeanor with completing 6 months of deferred adjudication. The charge still shows on my record even though it was dismissed… what can i do to get this off my record? Expunged, sealed, pardon? I dont know the difference or even where to start.

Answer by lestermount
Normally after two years the attorney can petition the court to have the record expunged or non disclosed.
Talk to your attorney. If the D.A. does not object it should not be a problem.

Question by aangtheman: Adverse adjudication? What are my chances of qualifying for the Air Force?
Ok, here is my situation. Note: this all happened 3 years ago. I have a disorderly conduct hazardous / physi off on my record which I was found not guilty of. The night of my “arrest” I had smoke some marijuana and I admitted it to the arresting officer. I was originally taken in with a DUI charge but I never got processed and was let go the same night. I went to court and the judge found me not guilty and all I had to do was write a check to donate to a local boys & girls club. My license was never suspended nor was i given anything else, ex. community server or probation. And that was the end of it. Although, I have racked up about 5 traffic violations within 8 years of my driving career. All of which were minor violations. I did extensive research and found out I may be DQ for entry into the AF because of my disorderly conduct that I was never charged of. I only had to “donate” money. Other than the traffic violations my slate is cleaned. I want to be prepared with the right questions and answers before I talk to a recruiter. What is adverse adjudication? Does this apply to my situation? Do I mention about the DUi even though i wasn’t found guilty of that crime?

If they ask you specifically on what charges have you had be honest and just see what they say. You lie about anything and they find out the truth you could be discharged.

I don’t know about a house, but with a car I would keep a lien on the title, and then you may wish to familiarize yourself in advance with collections and legal procedures in case of default.

Chances are you won’t need to use the information for collections, but fail to find out and someone will test you lol.

Probably your county’s property assessment division has more information as well, or someone along those departments.

Then you need to find fair market value, and advertise it.
The bit with the payments ought be easy, but you might want to research loan contracts and I think you’ll need to draw one up.

Last but not least, I hope you can read people so you can pre-screen potential buyers, for you may sorely miss the fact that you can not pull someone’s credit record, however, a solid pre-screening system can be as effective.

I personally wouldn’t do it, despite what I just wrote, peace of mind is worth the banking fees to me.
