Do i except Summary court martial? Posted: 01 Sep 2012 03:07 AM PDT
Question by : Do i except Summary court martial? I am pending a summary court martial because i denied battalion NJP which was advised to be by 2 JAGS. Its for a dwi, reckless driving, also hit a bike and total my car. The major factor in all this is my BAC which they don’t have yet. But i was also put on new medication that completely took my ability to make irrational decisions. My psychologist said that he is willing to write a letter in my defense. The same JAG told me to not accept Summary court martial. And the thing is im rolling the dice big time on this one because since i denied njp already they cant bump it down so either they are going to have to throw it out or most likely send it up for a special court martial. What im gambling is that they will (LEGAL) not take my case and it be dismissed. But if not now i’ll be on trial at a special court martial. So do i accept it. Do i go for all or nothing? Please Best answer: Answer by Steve Accept the njp. I got a dui in the Air Force and my njp was a letter of reprimand and 1 year loss of driving privileges. I did not lose any rank because my commanding officer said the civilian courts were gonna make me pay and he wanted me to have money to pay. He was a nice guy. Accept your punishment, pray that you didnt hurt anybody. A dui is a very bad thing and someone could die because of your actions. Learn from your mistake, be thankful nobody was killed, and focus on being a better person in the future. Don’t ever drink and drive again. What do you think? Answer below! |
