Are DUI Checkpoints Legal?

Posted: 30 May 2012 11:09 AM PDT

Question by crowbar923: Are DUI Checkpoints Legal?
How is it legal to stop someone without probable cause, and give them a DUI? It seems that everyone is required to obey the law except cops. If the police have their way, they will eliminate the constitution. And why are the only people that are never held responsible for a drunk driving fatality are the bars that continued to serve alcohol to an intoxicated person. 90% of the people that leave the bar are over the legal limit.
badge203 – Thats the point. I didn’t get caught, I was sober. I felt my rights were violated. Your lack of concern for the constitution bothers me.

P.S. – There is more crime in the police department than on the streets. Get Freemasonry out, and then we can debate ethics!

Got caught driving drunk did you?

Yes they are legal and if you were not drinking then it should not be an issue

Only those that are arrested are the ones complaining. They want to try to pass the blame on to an illegal checkpoint.

You were even told well in advance where they would be.

You got caught, take it like a man and stop whining

Dui / legal question?

Posted: 29 May 2012 03:03 AM PDT

Question by skitzo: Dui / legal question?
I got a dui when I hit a house. I got sued and I did not have money to pay for the house, so my licence was suspened for not paying the judgement against me for the house I hit. Can I start making payments like a $ 100.00 dollars a month to their lawyers and get my licence back or do I have to pay the whole 10,000 dollars all at once to get my licence back, please help if you know anything about this kind of thing. *I now do not drink anymore. Thank you

Answer by Toodeemo
No way to answer this question here. That’s really between you, the state and the lawyer. If the state agrees to payments, then that should be fine. If not, it wont be. There is no formula that applies here.
