What does deferred adjudication really mean?

Question by Knife Party: What does deferred adjudication really mean?
I am trying to get into a Radiology Tech program at my local college. One of the things that will prevent me from getting in is quote: if i have Misdemeanor convictions or felony deferred adjudications involving crimes against persons (physical or sexual abuse) I was placed on deferred adjudication for assaulting an ex-boyfriend. (In other words I slapped him in the face and it left a mark)It was a misdemeanor. Does this mean that I can not get into the program? This was almost 7 years ago!

It’s a possibility. You should try and get your record expunged.
